Story Nights

By Bayyinah TV · Nouman Ali Khan
A way for families to encounter stories from the Quran, Hadith, and Islamic history together, and to let those stories open conversations about faith, character, and the choices we face.

Why this may be worth your time

Children are growing, and so are their parents. Faith can sit alongside both, but it is often something a parent explains to a child. A shared story works differently. When a family experiences the same story together, everyone has something to think about and talk about, and no one has to lead a lesson. Story Nights brings stories from the Quran, Hadith, and Islamic history to life in a format families can experience together. It can be an easy way to open conversations that might not otherwise begin, about faith, character, courage, and the choices we face in everyday life.
  • You would like faith to feel like something your family explores together, not only something you teach.
  • You want a shared experience that can spark conversation with children or teens without a script.
  • You want stories to become openings for talking about character, courage, and choices.
  • You are hoping your own reflection can grow alongside your children’s.

REFLECT

A question worth carrying with you

What stood out to your child in the story, and was it different from what stood out to you?

IF YOU'D LIKE TO REFLECT A LITTLE FURTHER

  • Was there a choice or moment in the story that opened an unexpected conversation?
  • What might our family want to carry from this story into everyday life?
A gentle reminder

Every family is different

Different family members may hear different things in the same story. A child may notice courage, fairness, fear, or a choice someone made, while a parent may find themselves thinking about patience, responsibility, trust, or how they guide their family.

There is no correct conversation to have afterward. You might simply listen, let the story settle, and allow talk to develop in its own time, or not at all that evening.
